If your UPS is not maintained in full operational condition at all times it may not be there when the power fails! It is therefore imperative that, firstly the UPS you select is capable of sending alerts regarding its state of health and secondly, you have a means of monitoring those alerts so that you can rely on it working as expected when the need arises.
